Martin Kempton - lighting director

welcome

Welcome to my website.  I am a television lighting director with more than 20 years' experience.

This website is aimed at producers, directors and production managers seeking a suitable LD for their next show.  If you fall into this category then you are more than welcome!  If not, you will find it very dull.

Click on the buttons on the left for more information.  The 'CV' page gives a summary of my television career and a selection of about eighty of the programmes I have lit in the past few years.  They are listed in comedy, entertainment, drama and OB sections.  Have a look at the 'stills of TV work' page to see what some of those shows looked like.

I trade as a limited company - Martin Kempton Lighting Ltd.  The company health and safety policy can be found by clicking on the relevant button.

Sorry if it's all a bit 'me! me! me!'  I'm not usually like this, (at least, I hope not), but it's hard to know quite how to present myself in the best possible light without sounding like a complete pain in the...  well you get the picture.

Information for students...

I am occasionally contacted by people seeking info about what the job of a lighting director involves or how they might best go about entering the industry.

Unfortunately, there are no longer clear-cut routes to becoming an LD but I have written some pages that might help a little.  Click on the relevant buttons on the left to find out more.
